Locations – Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
Start Date – September 2025

Are you currently studying and looking for work that fits around your university schedule? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting its next group of teaching assistants for the 2025/2026 school year to support and nurture students with special educational needs (SEN). These needs may include mental health issues, physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural difficulties.

A patient and understanding persona is a key aspect of this role. You will support students aged 5 to 16 and play a critical role in their academic success.

Position Details:

  • September 2025 start date
  • Work available in Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
  • 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary depending on the school)
  • Monday to Friday, term time only
  • Opportunity to transition to a permanent contract for the right candidates

What You’ll Do:

  • Support students with SEN needs, either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
  • Work closely with other teaching assistants to support the learning and development of classroom students
  • Build trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel safe and supported
  • Assist with learning activities and classwork, providing help where and when needed

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Someone with a genuine passion for education and teaching, whether starting fresh or continuing from a previous role
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Experience is not essential—if you have the passion and drive to succeed, we’d love to hear from you
  • Previous experience with SEN or challenging behaviour (personally or professionally) is highly desirable, but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
