The Headteacher of a highly reputable Primary School in Wetherby (LS22) is looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with a SEN KS1 pupil. Your main responsibility will be to support the class teacher and to provide intervention on a very close 1:1 basis.

- 1:1 Support. Pupil has Global Development Delay and is non verbal. 

- The child will be going into Year 1 (has been deferred a year) and needs constant attention and personal care 

- The ideal candidate will need to show resilience and 

- An enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.

- Experience needed of working in the SEN field, improving educational outcomes for students.

This is a highly demanding and challenging role; we are therefore seeking an individual who is experienced in managing challenging behaviour and is familiar with the principles of Nurture.

Additional training in Positive Handling such as Team Teach is highly desirable (if you do not hold a current certificate, it is essential that you are available to attend a training session at the earliest opportunity – likely to be held in May 2021).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
