1:1 English Tutor
Location: Nottingham (NG17 and surrounding areas)

Do you have a passion for English and a talent for helping students achieve their full potential?
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 English Tutor to provide personalised support to learners, helping them to build confidence, improve their literacy skills, and reach their academic goals. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on seeing individual progress and making a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one English tuition tailored to the individual needs of each student

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons covering key areas such as reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, and exam preparation

  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed

  • Provide constructive feedback to students and, where appropriate, parents/carers

  • Maintain accurate records of lessons and progress

Requirements:

  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and/or Literature

  • Previous experience in teaching or tutoring

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A patient and encouraging approach to teaching

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or a degree in English or a related field

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEND)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
