Are you a caring, proactive, and experienced Teaching Assistant who loves helping children thrive?


We’re looking for a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, inclusive 2-form entry primary school in CF24, Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a nurturing team where no two days are the same, and every day makes a difference.

About the Role

You’ll be supporting a Year 1 class, working closely with the class teacher to create a positive, engaging learning environment. You’ll assist with classroom activities, small group work, and targeted interventions to help pupils meet their learning goals.

We’re particularly looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting pupils with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or additional learning needs

  • Can deliver or assist with intervention programmes for literacy, numeracy, or social skills

  • Is calm, patient, and nurturing, with excellent communication skills

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing classroom environment

  • Works well as part of a supportive team but can also show initiative and independence

‍ The Ideal Candidate

You’ll have prior experience working in a Key Stage 1 setting and feel confident supporting pupils with additional needs, particularly ASD. You’ll be adaptable, energetic, and committed to helping every child reach their potential — academically, socially, and emotionally.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
