Year One Teacher

A fully-qualified KS1 Year One Teacher is required at this 'Good' Rochdale primary school. The individual will be required to start as soon as possible on a full time basis with possibility of this becoming a long term role.

The school is slightly larger than average with a strong support system from the Head teacher and staff. The school has made great improvements in the past few years and is now in line with the national average in the attainment levels of the pupils. The ideal candidate will work hard to maintain this and also strive to make further improvements.

The pupils are well behaved and have a great deal of respect for staff and each other. There is a lot of focus on teamwork and older pupils look out for the younger ones. The teachers pride themselves on providing a positive and safe climate for learning, this has also been agreed by parents.

The candidate will need to have experience working with SEN pupils with focus on reading and writing skills. Prior experience of using the 'Read Write Inc' phonics scheme is also required.

The candidate is also required to;

  • Have QTS
  • Have experience working with Key Stage 1 students
  • Have a real passion and desire for education
  • To provide appropriate challenges for pupils
  • To confidently build respectful relationships with both pupils and staff
