Job description

The Role

  • Teach English, Maths, and PSHRE to a Year 8 class of 6 pupils, all with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), including:
    • Pupils with significant anxiety
    • Additional needs such as FASD and ADHD
  • Deliver Business and Enterprise NCFE and ASDAN CoPE to Year 10 and 11 students
  • Support enrichment sessions and varied activities
  • Participate in break and lunch duties as timetabled

The Person

  • Confident in planning and delivering English and Maths, and able to follow exam specifications for NCFE and ASDAN qualifications
  • Understands the urgency of supporting Year 11 pupils 
  • Skilled at building strong relationships quickly
  • Effective communicator, with experience supporting pupils with significant Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Able to lead and manage a team of TAs and 1:1 staff
  • Preferably experienced in de-escalation strategies and working with SEMH behaviours
