Experienced Year 6 Teacher – Summer Term (B7)

Are you a qualified and experienced KS2 teacher looking for a short-term, rewarding role to finish the academic year? Do you thrive in keeping pupils motivated and engaged once SATs are complete?

A welcoming and supportive primary school based in B7 is seeking an experienced Year 6 teacher to join their team for the second half of the summer term. This full-time role is to cover the class teacher who will be taking early leave. The position comes with full classroom responsibilities and will be arranged via Teaching Personnel.

With SATs completed, the focus of this role will be on maintaining high levels of engagement, supporting pupils through enrichment activities, school productions, trips, and helping them transition confidently into secondary school.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for the Year 6 class, including planning, delivery, marking and assessment

  • Delivering engaging and purposeful lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum

  • Keeping pupils motivated and focused during the post-SATs period

  • Supporting school productions, trips and end-of-year activities

  • Monitoring, recording and reporting pupil progress

  • Maintaining positive behaviour management and a supportive classroom environment

  • Being an active and flexible member of the wider school team

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent)

  • Have recent UK KS2 / Year 6 teaching experience

  • Be confident with planning, assessment and classroom management

  • Have a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum

  • Be proactive, adaptable and willing to “get stuck in”

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for education and child development

  • Show professionalism and commitment within and beyond the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
