Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated educator ready to inspire young minds? We are seeking a fully qualified Year 5 Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive team on a full-time basis to cover a Maternity Leave from January 2026.

Location: Burnley
Start Date: Monday 5th January 2026
Contract Type: Temporary (maternity cover)
Salary: £130 - £150 per day. AWR is then addressed.

About the Role:

As our new Year 5 Teacher, you will:

-       Deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the national curriculum

-       Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

-       Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

-       Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers

-       Contribute to the wider life of the school

What We’re Looking For:

-       Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

-       Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5

-       Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development

-       Excellent classroom management and communication skills

-       A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
