About the role

-One to one Teaching Assistant required for working with a child with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in Year 3

-This role will be supporting the child within a mainstream classroom setting, but will require focused time and attention to keep them on task with the teachers’ daily lessons

-The pupil shows signs of attention deficit disorder (ADD) but has not been statemented yet. Thus meaning concentration and staying on task can be difficult so the Teaching Assistant will need to creative and think of different ways to engage the child and keep them on task

-The role is full time to start from January 5th and will be until the end of the school year (July 2026). A perfect opportunity to build up a relationship with this child, and have a direct positive impact on their school experience and learning objectives

-Pay rate is £89.38 per day (830-1530) and you get paid weekly every Friday

-Large well known primary school in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan

-Excellent transport links by bus, train and access to free parking

The school offers strong support for pupils with additional learning needs (ALN), including effective provision for emotional and social well-being. All staff have clear expectations for pupils, and this ensures that they behave well and engage purposefully in lessons. As a result, most pupils make strong progress during their time at this wonderful school

About you

-Previous experience of working with children or adults with ALN

-Experience of working within Primary Schools preferred, but not essential

-You must have a can-do attitude and hands on approach in regard to working as part of a large team within a busy primary

-You will also need to be fully registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

-To be put forward for this role, you would need to undergo a 30-minute face to face registration with Teaching Personnel which would include reference and DBS checks
