About the role

-Teaching Assistant required for working with 5-7 years olds with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a Special Resource Base (SRB)

-This role will be supporting multiple children with ALN, which will include working with anxiety, autism, ADHE, mental health and other physical/ medical needs.

-The SRB itself will have around 10 children in, and will have a class teacher and multiple TA’s to support you

-The role is full time to start from January 5th and will be until the end of the school year (July 2026). A perfect opportunity to work with children with ALN and build positive relationships, where by you have a direct impact on how a child feels about school and ultimately how they succeed at school

-Pay rate is £89.38 per day (830-1530) and you get paid weekly every Friday

-The SRB is attached to a large primary school in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan

-Excellent transport links by bus, train and access to free parking

-This school has a caring and inclusive environment with positive relationships between pupils and staff. This creates a friendly and supportive atmosphere where pupils feel valued. The school offers strong support for pupils with additional learning needs (ALN), including effective provision for emotional and social well-being. All staff have clear expectations for pupils, and this ensures that they behave well and engage purposefully in lessons. As a result, most pupils make strong progress during their time at this wonderful school

About you

-Previous experience of working with children or adults with ALN

-Experience of working within Primary Schools preferred, but not essential

-You must have a can-do attitude and hands on approach as part of working as a large team within a busy primary

-You will also need to be fully registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

-To be put forward for this role, you would need to undergo a 30-minute face to face registration with Teaching Personnel which would include reference and DBS checks

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
