At Teaching personnel we deal with schools directly, recruiting on behalf of some of the best schools within the area. We are currently recruiting on behalf of a school based in Southall.

Role: Year 2 teaching assistant, providing one to one support to a pupil with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

FT/PT: full time, starting from January 2019

The school: This is an outstanding school, looking for a strong teaching assistant to help develop the learning of many pupils. It is gradually becoming more apparent the importance of teaching assistants on the development of the whole classes ability. Not only will this involve some one to one support to lower ability and special educational needs students but some general classroom support. Those students who need one to one support do have mild special educational needs, including autism and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Subsequently the role will involve adapting to each students needs and incorporating their ability in to the curriculum.

The role: The role will involve providing one to one support to a pupil with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and autism. This pupil has complex needs so will need a different types of support, including educational support - ensuring their participation and understanding. Alongside working with this pupil you will provide general classroom support, including group work and conducting intervention sessions.

The ideal candidate:

  • Classroom based experience
  • Experienced support pupils with complex special educational needs
  • Ideally team teach trained, or willing to be trained - not essential but ideal
  • A valid DBS or willing to apply for one
