Year 2 Teacher
‘Good’ Primary School in Nelson (2 form entry primary school)
Full Maternity leave
Experience in a KS1 classroom is a necessity
Behaviour is ‘Good’ and the ‘teaching staff’ in school are very supportive
Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced Year 2 Teacher to from May 2021 to work within a Nelson Primary School. The position is to start mid-May and run for a full year with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the correct candidate. The current class teacher will be leaving on MAT leave mid-May and the school are hoping to appoint a candidate on a full year’s supply contract through Teaching Personnel. The pay will vary depending on experience, but the school are happy to pay between M2 – M6, which would fall between GBP120 - GBP175 per day. The school are hoping to appoint for Monday May 17th to complete a transition week with the current class teacher.
Behaviour in school has been reported at 'Good' and pupils show good progress across KS1 and KS2.This position offers candidates the scope to develop their career, alongside upholding high expectations of learning, attainment and behaviour. Due to the gaps lost in learning due to COVID-19, the class is working around a year 1 level, so experience of working with lower attaining year 2 pupils or teaching year 1 might be beneficial.
Experience delivering the KS1 curriculum and evidence of excellent Primary School classroom practice references are essential for this role. The successful candidate will be required to full-time and will get relevant PPA time allocated. Feedback from Teaching Personnel staff who have been in school recently to cover short term absences have said the school is lovely and is a pleasure to work in.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
