Year 2 Teacher – Wigan (WN2)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: Pay-to-Scale, dependent on experience
A highly regarded primary school in the WN2 area is seeking a motivated and committed Year 2 Teacher to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to guide pupils through the final year of Key Stage 1, preparing them for the transition into Key Stage 2 while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
What we’re looking for:
- A qualified teacher with QTS and proven experience in Key Stage 1, ideally teaching in Year 2.
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, assessment frameworks, and strategies to prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments.
- The ability to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support progress across all abilities.
- Excellent classroom management skills and a nurturing approach that promotes independence and resilience.
- A reflective practitioner who works collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support every child’s development.
- A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
