Year 2 Teacher (Full-Time)

Start Date: May 2026- July 2025
Location: Bacup 
Pay: £100+ per day (dependendent on experience) 
Contract: Full time (5 days per week)

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and reflective Year 2 Teacher to join our two-form entry primary school from May. This full-time role offers the opportunity to secure strong end-of-Key-Stage-1 outcomes while preparing pupils confidently for the transition into Key Stage 2.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum

  • Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-Key-Stage-1 SAT-style assessments in reading, writing and mathematics

  • Use assessment data to inform planning, close gaps and accelerate progress

  • Create a structured, engaging and purposeful classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively alongside the parallel Year 2 teacher

A key focus of this role is ensuring pupils are secure in core skills, including arithmetic fluency, reasoning, reading comprehension and extended writing. The successful candidate will maintain high expectations for attainment, presentation and behaviour, while supporting pupils pastorally as they prepare for the increased academic demands of Key Stage 2.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (preferably Year 2)

  • Have a secure understanding of SAT-style assessments and moderation expectations

  • Be confident in using assessment to drive progress

  • Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

  • Provide appropriate stretch and challenge for high achievers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
