Experience working alongside lower attaining pupils in KS1 would be desirable, particularly in the development of social and communication needs is a necessity.

A Good performing School in the heart of East Lancashire BB11, who work in partnership with Teaching Personnel have approached the agency in order to source a member of staff. The role that has been specified by the School is to begin from as the start of the new academic year & run for the full academic year, with the expectation of going onto a school contract in 2020. The role is to cover a member of staff who has given a 4 week notice period in order to retire from her current post. The role is Monday - Friday, 6 ½ hours per day, with 6 hours spent in the classroom & 30 minutes providing welfare cover.

The role is one that will require a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is keen to make a difference in the classroom and also make a difference to an individual child's life. The Head teacher has mentioned that the successful candidate will be someone who has good English and Maths subject knowledge and pedagogy, and also someone who possesses a nurturing personality as the child does have difficulty building relationships with new members of staff. With the role being in Year 1, the head has stated she would like someone with a wealth of Phonics experience, preferably Letters & Sounds.

As this is a specialist teaching assistant role, the school will be looking to question the applying candidates about their recent experience working in KS1. You must be able to provide information on how you have previously raised standards in the classroom and how you can impact further in this School.

There are a number of pre-requisites in order to apply for this role through Teaching Personnel; you must hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above; you must have a Maths and English GCSE at C grade or above; you must have experience in working alongside children with Autism; you must be fun and engaging.
