Year 1 Teacher Needed in Nelson
Job description
Due to a sudden change in circumstance, a popular Primary School in Nelson are looking for an excellent key stage 1 teacher to join their school for the start of the new academic year. The role would entail working on a full-time basis to lead a year 1 class of approx. 30 pupils. The class is of varied abilities and needs but is well supported by an experienced teaching assistant and a 1:1 support assistant.
The school itself is highly reputable and has made huge improvements over the last 3 years since appointing a new Senior Leadership Team. The Head Teacher is popular amongst staff and has been described as approachable and fair with a genuine interest in the wellbeing and development of staff. The wider team of core staff are bubbly, welcoming and of a very high calibre. This would be an excellent role for a newly or recently qualified teacher looking to progress within their career, or for an experienced teacher looking to join a dedicated team.
As a teacher in this school you would be required to:
- Plan and deliver engaging and innovative lessons of an excellent standard, derived from a sound knowledge of the national curriculum and phonics schemes.
- Address gaps in learning due to school closures and aid the children in their reintegration to school life.
- Consistently implement the school’s strong behavioural strategy with confidence as to enforce high standards towards learning and the classroom environment.
- Approach day to day work with enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a clear will to better yourself.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
