Year 1 Teacher – Maternity Cover

Location: Waterloo L22
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (12 months)

Teaching Personnel are delighted to be working with a lovely Primary School in Waterloo, to recruit a Year 1 Teacher for a maternity cover position. Role Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 1 pupils in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and personal development.
  • Assess and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support pupil development.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching KS1, ideally Year 1.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for inspiring young learners and promoting a love of learning.
