Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant Needed
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full-time, Part-time & Flexible roles available (typically 08:30 – 15:30)
Pay: £89 – £110 per day, based on experience (paid weekly)
Start Date: January
Do you speak Welsh confidently and enjoy supporting children in their learning? We work with welcoming and supportive primary schools based in Cardiff and the Vale and they are looking for enthusiastic Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants to join their team this January.
We offer full-time, part-time, and flexible opportunities, making this role ideal for those seeking work that fits around other commitments. You’ll support pupils in developing their skills through the Welsh language while gaining valuable classroom experience. No formal qualifications are required — just a positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
Your Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons

Provide one-to-one and small-group support through the Welsh language

Assist with preparing activities, learning materials, and classroom resources

Encourage pupils to build confidence and develop key skills

Help supervise pupils during lessons, activities, and break times

Confident Welsh speaker (spoken and written)

Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic approach

Proactive and willing to get involved

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Experience working with children (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
