Job Title: Maternity Cover - Welsh-Speaking Primary School Teacher
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full-time (08:30 – 15:30)
Pay: Paid to Scale
Start Date: April (Interviews from 19th February onwards)

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Welsh-Speaking Primary Teacher for a maternity cover position in a vibrant school in Cardiff. As a Welsh-Speaking Primary Teacher, you will have a unique opportunity to inspire and develop young learners, promoting the Welsh language and culture. Your role will be crucial in supporting their educational journey and fostering their love for Welsh.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective primary education lessons in Welsh to pupils.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and create teaching materials.
  • Assess and monitor pupils’ progress, providing feedback and support.
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure pupils' academic and well-being success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent primary teaching qualification.
  • Fluency in Welsh and proficiency in English.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and promoting the Welsh language and culture.
  • An enhanced DBS check (registered on the update service).
  • Registered with the Welsh Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Strong teaching references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
