Secondary Cover Supervisor – Full-Time

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf (various secondary schools)
Pay: £120 per day

Are you confident working with secondary-aged students and passionate about supporting their learning? We are seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Secondary Cover Supervisors to work across a range of schools in the Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) area. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in education, develop classroom skills, and make a positive impact on young people.


The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the classroom teacher. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering and supervising pre-prepared lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Maintaining a calm, focused, and positive learning environment
  • Managing behaviour in line with school policies
  • Taking registers and following safeguarding procedures
  • Supporting students with their work and encouraging active participation

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
  • Are confident, adaptable, and resilient
  • Possess strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Have an understanding of the secondary curriculum (advantageous but not essential)
  • Are committed to promoting an inclusive and respectful classroom environment
  • Can drive or are willing to travel to different schools across RCT

Requirements

If you don’t currently have these, we can support you in obtaining them:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Two professional references covering the past two years
