Job description

The East Midlands branch of Teaching Personnel work extremely closely with clients who commission tuition and intervention referrals for LAC pupils, pupils at risk of exclusion, pupils with medical requirements and those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.

We have an extremely high demand for tutors who are experience in working with pupils who present with challenging behaviour, Attachment Disorder, Physical Aggression, Disengagement and Self-Harming behaviours. Many of these young people are extremely disaffected and have experience significant trauma in their life, therefore we require sensitive, nurturing individuals who can build up an effective rapport with these students and act as a positive role model.

The role will involve:

  • Sessional intervention sessions tailored with cross-curricular support as well as pastoral engagement activities
  • Behaviour management
  • Multi-Disciplinary meetings and communication with other professionals including Social Workers, Residential staff and Foster carers
  • Planning and delivering work to disengaged pupils
  • Recording weekly feedback sessions
  • Reporting safeguarding allegations accordingly
  • Creative and innovative teaching methods to engage hard to reach young people
