Tutor
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Do you want to undertake a role which is challenging but rewarding? Do you want to help some of the most vulnerable and disaffected young people across the region?
Teaching Personnel are lucky enough to be an approved provider for the four virtual schools and a large alternative provision team across the region. We have regular referrals coming through, for which we require tutors to work on a 1:1 basis with Looked After Children who may be very disengaged from education.
If you are looking to going back to the basics of a rewarding role where you can actually make a difference on an individual basis to a child's learning, without the stress and pressure from a school environment, this could be the perfect job for you!
The role involves:
- Planning and delivering work at both primary and secondary level to students with Attachment Disorder and Mental Health Difficulties
- Behaviour management
- Liaising with Virtual School staff and providing weekly feedback reports
- Working closely with foster carers and residential home staff
- Helping to support with the transition into a new school or provision where required
We welcome applications from Teachers, Instructors, FE Teachers, and also Teaching Assistants who have experience planning and delivering work. An understanding of Attachment Disorder and excellent behaviour management using a patient approach at all times is essential.
For additional information, please contact Emma Gale as soon as possible as we will have roles coming through to us on a regular basis from now until September 2019.
