Become a Tutor in Sunderland – Make a Real Difference Locally
TP Tutors partners with Local Authorities across the UK to deliver high-impact tuition to the children who need it most – and right now, we’re looking for passionate, committed tutors to support young people in Sunderland.
We believe that every child in Sunderland has the potential to thrive, no matter their background or current circumstances. That’s why we are seeking outstanding qualified teachers or experienced tutors to join our mission and deliver individualised, face-to-face tuition across the Sunderland area.
Who will you be supporting?
You’ll be working with a wide range of pupils across Sunderland, including:

Looked After Children in care home or foster settings
-
Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
-
Children who have been excluded from school
-
Pupils awaiting a suitable school placement
-
Children experiencing anxiety or poor mental health
-
EAL/ESOL learners
-
Primary and secondary-aged children
What makes this opportunity different?
We offer flexible working – many of our Sunderland-based tutors manage their own diaries and accept referrals that suit their availability. You’ll liaise directly with carers, guardians, or parents to schedule in-person sessions at a time and place that works for everyone.
What we expect:
We prioritise progress. You’ll be expected to:

Plan tailored schemes of work based on your assessment of the child’s needs

Deliver engaging, 1:1 sessions in person across Sunderland

Report back on progress using our online LEAP platform

Engage with our CPD Academy to continue your professional growth

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
