1:1 Tutor – Peterborough

Location: Peterborough and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, during school hours
Pay: Competitive rates (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Are you an experienced educator looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to a young person's education?

We are currently seeking dedicated and passionate 1:1 Tutors to support pupils across Peterborough. Tuition will take place either in the pupil's home or within a school setting during school hours, providing personalised support to help students achieve their academic goals and build confidence in learning.

The Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will work with pupils who require additional educational support, delivering tailored lessons that meet their individual learning needs. You will help students re-engage with education, improve attainment, and develop the skills needed to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition sessions.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit individual pupil needs and abilities.
  • Support pupils in achieving academic targets and improving confidence.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and schools.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports where required.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience in the UK.
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and classroom experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with children and young people of varying abilities.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel within Peterborough and surrounding areas.

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Previous tutoring experience.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or those who are currently out of education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
