Job description

Tutor Opportunities – Oldham

We are seeking committed and enthusiastic tutors to support learners across the Oldham area. This role is ideal for teachers, teaching assistants, or individuals with experience supporting children and young people who are looking for flexible and rewarding work.

Many of the pupils you will work with are currently outside of mainstream education due to reasons such as SEND, SEMH, medical needs, or anxiety. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in helping them re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their educational goals.

Role responsibilities:

  • Delivering 1:1 tuition in core subjects such as English and Maths (other subjects may be required)

  • Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual learning styles and needs

  • Encouraging progress through engaging, personalised sessions

  • Keeping brief records of learner progress for parents and local authorities

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, or classroom support)

  • Strong subject knowledge in English and/or Maths

  • Ability to engage pupils with a variety of needs and abilities

  • Confidence working independently on a 1:1 basis

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
