Make a Difference: Become a 1:1 Tutor in Maths, English or Science – Primary & Secondary (Start ASAP!)

Do you have experience supporting children in their learning? Are you looking for a flexible role where you can teach 1:1 outside of the traditional classroom?

At TP Tutors, we’re offering an exciting opportunity for passionate educators to deliver 1:1 tuition in Maths, English, or Science to primary and secondary pupils in your area. Whether you’re a qualified teacher, teaching assistant, or experienced tutor, this role is perfect if you’re looking to make a real impact on a young learner’s progress.

About the Role:

• Plan and deliver tailored sessions focused on Maths, English or Science, adapted to each student’s level and goals
• Provide face-to-face support in the pupil’s home, a local library, or agreed community setting
• Work with students who may need extra help catching up or building confidence in core subjects
• Monitor progress, identify gaps in learning, and set achievable goals
• Keep students motivated and engaged with creative, supportive teaching
• Use positive behaviour strategies to ensure productive, focused sessions

We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting
• Confident teaching Maths, English or Science at KS1–KS4 (depending on your specialism)
• Ability to tailor sessions to individual needs and learning styles
• Strong communication, organisation and behaviour management skills
• Passion for helping pupils grow in confidence and ability

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – we can assist)
• Right to work in the UK
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
