1:1 Tutor – Daventry Area

Location: Daventry and surrounding areas
Position Type: Part-Time / Flexible / Self-Employed
Hours: School hours (typically 9:00am–3:00pm)
Pay: Competitive hourly rates based on experience and qualifications

Join Our Team of Dedicated Tutors

We are looking for passionate and committed 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised educational support to children and young people across Daventry and the surrounding areas. Sessions will take place in pupils' homes, schools, community settings, or alternative provision environments during school hours.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people who may be struggling to access mainstream education, have additional learning needs, or require tailored support to reach their potential.

The Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and building confidence.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Plan and prepare appropriate learning activities and resources.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, parents, carers, and other professionals.
  • Promote positive educational outcomes and pupil wellbeing.

Subjects Required

We are recruiting tutors with experience in:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Primary Curriculum
  • Functional Skills
  • GCSE Subjects
  • SEND and Intervention Support

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children and young people in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to deliver effective and engaging one-to-one learning.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel throughout the Daventry area.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or EBSA.
  • Previous tutoring, mentoring, intervention, or alternative provision experience.
  • Subject specialism in one or more curriculum areas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
