Job description

Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School Settings)
Location: Coventry and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours (Monday–Friday)

About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Tutor to support pupils across Coventry in both home and school settings. This role involves working closely with students who may need additional academic or emotional support to help them re-engage with learning and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised one-to-one tuition sessions tailored to each pupil’s needs
  • Support students with a range of abilities, including those with SEN or additional challenges
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
  • Build positive relationships to support engagement and confidence

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, or support roles)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learners
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision settings
  • Ability to deliver core subjects such as English, Maths, or Science

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
