Job description

1:1 Tutor – Flexible School Hours (Coventry Area)

Location: Coventry and surrounding areas
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (flexible within school hours)
Contract: Part-time / Self-employed
Pay: Competitive rates (dependent on experience)


About the Role

We are currently recruiting dedicated and passionate 1:1 Tutors to support pupils across the Coventry area, either within their home or in a school setting.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who require additional support, delivering personalised learning that helps them re-engage with education and build confidence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored 1:1 tuition sessions
  • Support pupils in core subjects such as English and Maths
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs, including SEN where appropriate
  • Create a positive and structured learning environment
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback after sessions
  • Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals

Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching the UK curriculum
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A patient, flexible, and empathetic approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Background in tutoring, alternative provision, or outreach work
  • Behaviour management experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
