Job description

Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School Settings)
Location: Coventry and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours (flexible)
Contract Type: Part-time / Flexible

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting dedicated and experienced 1:1 Tutors to support pupils across Coventry. This role involves delivering personalised, one-to-one sessions either in the pupil’s home or within a school setting during school hours.

You will be supporting students who may have additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, or those currently out of mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons based on individual learning needs
  • Support pupils in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit different abilities and learning styles
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent, or at least 2 years’ UK teaching experience
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Good knowledge of the UK curriculum
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils
  • PGCE or relevant teaching qualification

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
