Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Tutor to support pupils across the Birmingham area, either in schools or at pupils’ homes during school hours. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition sessions
- Support pupils in English, Maths, and/or Science
- Adapt teaching methods for different abilities, including SEN
- Build positive relationships to boost engagement and confidence
- Monitor and report on pupil progress
- Follow safeguarding and compliance procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ UK teaching or tutoring experience
- Good knowledge of the UK curriculum
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently
Desirable
- QTS or working towards a PGCE
- Experience with SEN pupils
- Subject specialism (English, Maths, or Science)
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
