Position: Teacher of Textiles
Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
Start date: November 2023
Contract: Full-time, initially until July 2024 (maternity cover)
Suitable for ECT’s as well as more experienced practitioners.
Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with an Ofsted graded ‘good’ Secondary school in Blackburn, Lancashire to support them with an upcoming maternity cover in the Creative Technology department.
The Creative Technologies department is part of the wider Sports and Creative Technology Faculty which includes Sports, Art and Design (Fine Art and Art Textiles at KS3 and KS4) Design Technology, iMedia and Food Preparation and Nutrition.
This role requires an energetic and dedicated practitioner, who can make a significant contribution to our school community by engaging, enthusing, and challenging staff and students to achieve their very best in the subject. You will have excellent subject knowledge in a range of textile media which could contribute to broadening our pupils' experiences, this should include using sewing machines and a variety of surface pattern techniques.
You would be joining a team of colleagues who are passionate about ensuring that all pupils enjoy the subject and are focused on securing the best outcomes for our students.

- Dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic
- The ability to inspire students to express themselves and inspire them to perform to the best of their ability
- Be comfortable managing a class of up to 30 KS3/4 students
- Be able to maximise pupil learning to improve progress and maintain high expectations
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
