Our reputable educational institution in the Newham area is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to overcome challenges and thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, ensuring their individualized learning goals are met
- Assist classroom teachers in planning and implementing effective teaching strategies
- Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes students' confidence, independence, and self-esteem
- Support students with their personal care needs, if required
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and educational psychologists, to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and track students' progress, documenting observations and providing feedback to the teaching team
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication channels
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with special needs students is highly desirable
- A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of students with special needs
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual students' needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Relevant qualifications in special education or related fields are advantageous but not essential
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £80 to £95 per day, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, during term time.
