Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Illford, London
Salary Range: £80-£95 per day

Our reputable educational institution in the Newham area is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to overcome challenges and thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, ensuring their individualized learning goals are met
  • Assist classroom teachers in planning and implementing effective teaching strategies
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes students' confidence, independence, and self-esteem
  • Support students with their personal care needs, if required
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and educational psychologists, to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor and track students' progress, documenting observations and providing feedback to the teaching team
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication channels

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with special needs students is highly desirable
  • A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of students with special needs
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual students' needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Relevant qualifications in special education or related fields are advantageous but not essential

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £80 to £95 per day, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, during term time.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
