Teaching Assistant for Oxford School

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Mentor for employment in an established Residential and day school in Oxford. The post is to start ASAP, with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff!

The school has high numbers of pupils from challenging behaviours such as ADHD, ASC and SEMH. You will work closely with your colleagues to create action plans for students across the Key Stage 2-4, taking an active role in implementing a programme that positively encourages pupils to overcome barriers to learning, improve their skills and ultimately raise engagement and attainment in school.

Minimal Requirements:

• A child workforce DBS on the update service, or one completed through Teaching Personnel
• Have UK QTS or the overseas equivalent and are confident with children with SEN
• Be approachable and encourage to develop relationships with other staff members and the pupils
• Previous experience with the SEN students is preferred, but we will consider newly qualified teachers for this role
• Be able to provide 2 references covering 6 year

You will have strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff, social workers and educational psychologists. You will be organised, patient and confident, with a sound understanding of the key issues currently affecting young people.
