A college specialising in ages 14 - 19 is looking for a teaching assistant to work alongside pupils with SEN. This could be working with pupils on the autistic spectrum, pupils who are vulnerable and have social and emotional need or some who just need more academic support.
You will need either experience in schools or experience with working with children with special education needs. You will need GCSEs grade C or above for maths and English as you will need to support pupils academically. Anyone with a good A-Level in a core subject or a degree with be ideal. However this is not essential.
The school is based in Weston-Super-Mare so you will either need to live locally, have your own transport or live near a train station. Trains from Bristol are very quick and regular.
This is a full-time role and is to start immediately. This will start on a supply basis but if it goes well could lead to a full-time contract with the school. If you are interested please contact me as soon as possible. I look forward to you call.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
