Learning Support Assistant
Location: Southampton
Pay: £89.38 per day
Term-time, flexible working days
Are you passionate about supporting children with social communication difficulties? Do you want to make a meaningful difference in an inclusive and supportive learning environment?
We are working with a dedicated school in Southampton catering for children aged 9-16, specialising in personalised education for pupils with a primary need of social communication difficulties. Many of the pupils also have additional diagnoses, including specific learning difficulties, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) needs.
The small class groups enable them to deliver bespoke, tailored learning experiences that adapt to the unique needs of each pupil. They’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join the team and help create a positive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality support to pupils both individually and in small groups
- Assist with personalised learning activities tailored to pupils’ specific needs
- Help manage sensory processing needs and support emotional regulation strategies
- Work closely with teaching staff to adapt resources and approaches
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging their confidence and independence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
