1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 5 | Christchurch | September Start

One of my lovely junior schools in Christchurch is looking to welcome a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This is a full-time role supporting a child in Year 5, providing tailored support throughout the school day to help them access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals. The school has a warm, inclusive ethos and a supportive staff team who work together to ensure every child is given the opportunity to succeed.

The Role

• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• September start
• 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 5
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning
• Foster a safe, nurturing and encouraging environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential
• Calm, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Committed to the role on a full-time basis
• Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the Update Service
