Hours: Monday–Friday, Term Time Only
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking caring, motivated and resilient Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist school in the Andover area. The school supports children and young people with additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them develop confidence, independence and essential life skills. Applications are welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in education, care, youth work, healthcare, coaching, customer service or other people-focused roles. Previous experience in education is desirable but not essential, as full support and training will be provided.
The Role
Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff, you will help pupils engage with learning and achieve their individual goals. Responsibilities will include:

Providing one-to-one and small-group support
-
Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning where required
-
Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
-
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
-
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
-
Developing pupils’ social and life skills
-
Supporting transitions, breaktimes and enrichment activities

Working collaboratively with the wider school team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
