Are you an unqualified teacher, or a TA who has had experience of taking classes? You may be thinking about pursuing a career in teaching.
We are seeking a teaching assistant who is confident covering whole/part classes during the short term absence of teachers. Cover can be across both KS3 and KS4. Although our Cover Supervisors tend to have a specialist subject, and where possible would be prioritised to cover within this subject to ensure pupils have specialist support in the absence of their regular teachers. Depending on cover requirements throughout the year, you will also be required to support the administration needs of particular curriculum areas in the school, whilst also undertaking invigilation duties during internal and external examinations.
You will have daily contact with pupils and staff, therefore experience of working with young people is essential, as is the ability to relate effectively to all adults and young people. You must be confident in setting high expectations of conduct in the classroom. Experience would be desirable, although training is available for the successful candidate. Depending on candidate availability roles are available with start dates ASAP or after the schools re-open after the lockdown period.
Our school is a honest, kind, family of learners. Together with parents, we will enable every pupil to fulfil their potential. We provide a secure and caring environment where we strive to ensure that every pupil will develop a sense of pride, enjoyment and ownership in their school. Based in Central Wakefield we are easily accessible via motorway and public transport.
