Teaching Assistant

Position: Teaching Assistant for temporary posts

Pay: GBP10 per hour

Hours: 32.5 hours a week (Term time only)

Starting Date – As soon as possible

Essential: The ability to communicate effectively through the medium of welsh

Desirable: Previous experience in a classroom setting.

Teaching Personnel wish to appoint an outstanding and committed teaching assistants with excellent Literacy and Numeracy skills, to support teaching and learning within Welsh Medium Primary Schools in:

Caerphilly | Newport | Cardiff | Monmouthshire | Torfaen | Merthyr Tydfil | RCT | Blaenau Gwent

Duties will include:

• working under the direct instruction of teaching/ senior staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher,

• supporting access to learning for pupils and providing general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom,

• supervising and supporting pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning,

• working under the instruction/ guidance of teaching/ senior staff to undertake work/ care/ support programmes,

•to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom,

• encouraging pupils to act independently,

• encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher,

• assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.

These posts are subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced checks.

All School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
