Teaching Personnel have been contacted by primary school in Garforth who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistantto start in Oct 2021.
This is a general support role in the Year 5/6 class, so the school would like someone who has experience providing support in a KS2 class. The class teacher is very supportive and welcoming as she has worked at the school for a the last 5 years, so will be perfect for guiding any new member of staff in the school.
The class are on the whole very well behaved although there are a few children who can at times become disruptive. Essentially, the school need someone who can support the class teacher in their lesson, and ensure that the whole class are focussed and on task.
Ideally, the school want someone who has previous experience in a KS2 class, but also who has some experience in dealing with SEN children. This is because there is a child in the class with Autism (ASC) who sometimes requires 1-2-1 support, and may need taking out of the class from time to time. Therefore a candidate with prior experience of this kind of support would be incredibly useful for the school.
School begins at 8.30am and ends at 3.30pm. They need someone who can do 5 days a week (full-time during term time) at least until July 2022, and there is a good chance that this may be extended into a permanent role depending on performance.
The Head Teacher would like to see CVs and applicants for the role in September when schools re-open.
If you are interested in this role then hit the apply button and submit an up-to-date CV for the school to look over or, register for Teaching Personnel online.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
