Teaching Assistant Vacancies – SEMH School

A forward thinking, inclusive SEMH school based in Croydon is looking for new members of support staff to join their vibrant team as soon as possible. The school believe that every student can achieve, with the right staff to encourage and support them.

They are a huge, 5 site school, with classes broken down into maximum 9-10 students per group, a class teacher and up to 4 teaching assistants per group.

  • GBP65-GBP90 day, dependent on experience
  • Begin as an agency worker – apply for a permanent role later in the year if you like the job
  • Make a difference to young people who really need your help
  • 8:30am-15:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only

The school are not looking for specific qualifications, but any previous experience of the following would be desirable:

  • Youth work
  • Mentoring/tutoring/coaching
  • PRU or AP teaching assistant
  • Sports coach
  • Psychology or criminology
  • Counselling
  • Community support

They are looking for candidates who can talk to the young people at this school, engage with them, relate to them, and guide them in a positive direction.

Training will be available as part of the role. The school are keen to invest in the careers of the people who join their team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
