Teaching Assistant

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

I am currently supporting one of my partner Secondary Schools who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in one of their alternative learning provisions. The Cardiff School and I have been liaising closely during the recent school closure and foresee that they will need a Teaching Assistant upon reopening. They have specified that the suitable TA must be able to support with extra curricular learning such as wellbeing, anger management, mindfulness and other similar topics. You will be asked to support with social wellbeing & behaviour management as well as supporting the curriculum and these extra provisions set by the school.

The role will be working with vulnerable  students where you will look to mentor and support with their learning and social needs. In the past we have found that individuals from backgrounds of Psychology, Youth Work, Support Work or SEN have transferred into these roles excellently. The school closures will be a time of unrest for the vulnerable pupils you will be supporting. Aiding their transition back in to school life will be imperative to starting successfully in this role, therefore having a patient and resilient manner is required.

At Teaching Personnel we offer competitive rates of pay with no agency fees and a supportive team of specialist consultants to support your application and ensure your introduction into the school goes smoothly.

Working as a Teaching Assistant we would look for you to support the Teacher and the department while developing your skills in an education setting. This would be a perfect role for someone looking for a career in Teaching and wanting to gain classroom management skills prior to embarking on this career.
