SEN Maths Teacher - Totton

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting an experienced Maths Teacher for an 'Outstanding' Ofsted graded SEMH School located Totton, Hampshire for September 2022. This is one of the best SEMH provisions in the South, which has three sites iin Dibden, Fawley and Totton.

Details About The Role:

You will be responsible for 6-8 students in class with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Due to the students needs some will be working towards their Maths GCSEs and others working at a much lower level. When teaching you will have support from a Teaching Assistant who will be there to help set up the class, support the students and manage their behaviour.

A specialist setting that caters and provides safe academic learning for pupils with educational needs including: SEMH, ASC, Attachements Disorder and areas of Mental Health

They promote the highest standards of educational achievement at all levels and provide a broad and balanced education experience and curriculum, personalised according to need. The success of the school is undoubtedly linked to the dedication of staff and engagement of parents/carers

Experience, training and qualification:

  • Calming mannerisms in challenging situations.
  • Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
  • Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation.
  • The ability to grow individual personal development.
  • Be caring, patient and have good communication skills.
  • Be self-reflective, have a willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative.
  • Experience supporting an individual with Autism.
  • Willing to complete Safeguarding online training.
  • Complete a face-to-face registration with our Southampton office (currently taking place online).

To be eligible for this role through Teaching Personnel, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references

Teaching Personnel is able to offer the successful candidate:

  • Accredited continued professional development courses including safeguarding and behaviour management
  • In-house Training and Development Team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
