Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and caring Graduate Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary schools in Portsmouth. This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates who are eager to make a difference in children’s lives while developing their own skills and experience in a school environment.

About the Role:

• Supporting pupils in class under the direction of the class teacher

• Leading small group interventions in literacy, numeracy or other subjects

• Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs

• Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

• Assisting with classroom organisation and general admin tasks

Ideal for Graduates Who:

• Are considering a career in teaching or education

• Want to gain valuable, paid classroom experience

• Have a degree in any subject (education, psychology, English, maths or science preferred – but all welcome!)

• Are patient, enthusiastic and confident in working with children

✅ Requirements:

• A university degree (2:2 or above preferred)

• A genuine interest in working with children

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
