Teaching Assistant

Job description

A school in South Manchester is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team.

Do you have a desire to work within a secondary school?

Do you have a passion for working to improve student attainment?

Are you able to confidently work to develop young minds within a school environment?

The role will involve:

  • Working with children with SEN.
  • Managing individual students needs.
  • Providing engaging material and resources for students.
  • Managing student behaviour.

The skills needed to be successful within this role:

  • Patience.
  • Resillience.
  • A will to succeed.
  • Being an active listener.

There may be the opportunity and expectation to cover lessons for absent staff, in turn allowing applicants to lead the classroom. This will be of huge benefit to those who are planning on enrolling onto a PGCE Course in 2021.

The applicant will be able to quickly form strong working relationships with other staff and students.

The applicant will have excellent organisational skills, and will be able to display good levels of timekeeping.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
