Teaching assistant job - South Woodford

Teaching personnel are looking for an energetic teaching assistant to work in a special needs school in the Highams Park/ South Woodford area immediately. This will be a full time role working in a lively KS2-KS3 class for non verbal autistic learners who also have behavioural needs. This role requires patience, enthusiasm and a real passion to work with special needs! As a teaching assistant in this class you will have a good understanding to work with autistic learners, previous experience working with SEN or a confident personal with a positive attitude. Consistency is key for the school so for the successful candidate there is the view for a permanent contract after an extended probation period. The school is part of a multi site academy so there is opportunity for career growth and development!

KS2/KS3 Autism Teaching assistant profile:

  • Previous experience working with Autism or transferable skills
  • Positive energy and takes initiative
  • Knowledge of PECS or Makaton is desirable
  • Support with toileting
  • Monday to Friday - 8.30am -3.30pm - Term time
  • Potential for permanent contract
  • Lovely welcoming school with highly skilled staff
