Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for experienced teaching assistants interested in supporting SEN pupils for a primary and secondary SEN school in Barnet. The role will be full time for an academic year as a minimum and required immediately.
The School
The school caters for primary and secondary aged SEN children supporting pupils with autism across the spectrum learning difficulties and complex needs, with classes holding up to 8 students, a teacher and up to 2 other Teaching Assistants.
The Role
The role involves supporting primary and secondary children with autism in class and across the school 1:1, 2:1 and in small groups. This additionally will include adapting lessons, creating innovative resources, report taking, liaising with therapists and overall support of pupils in your care.
To be successful you will need to be:
- Able to work Monday - Friday 8:30 am - to 4:00pm during school term time
- Experienced supporting children with autism
- Able to support children with Maths, English and core subjects
- Open to personal care
- Knowledgeable of specific visual aids such as PECS, TEACCH
A valid DBS with Child Only Workforce registered onto the update service is required in order to secure this job.
