An exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Yeovil on a permanent, full-time basis.

About the Position
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.
- Provide tailored support to pupils both individually and in small groups
- Encourage engagement, participation, and positive learning behaviours
- Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning programmes
- Support communication, social development, and emotional regulation
- Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Help monitor progress and celebrate achievements
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, and genuinely committed to improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
- Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work, or support settings
- A strong understanding of SEND or a desire to develop specialist knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solution-focused
- A positive attitude and collaborative approach to teamwork
Qualifications are valued, but personal qualities, enthusiasm, and commitment are equally important.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
