We are particularly keen to hear from people who already have experience working with children or young people with SEND. The setting needs someone who understands specialist education, can settle into a new team quickly and is ready to hit the ground running.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will work alongside teaching staff to provide consistent, hands-on support throughout the school day. Your focus will be on helping pupils access education, develop their confidence and work towards individual goals.
- Supporting young people during lessons and structured activities.
- Providing tailored assistance based on individual needs.
- Encouraging communication, independence and social development.
- Helping pupils stay focused and engaged with their education.
- Responding calmly and professionally to challenging situations.
- Establishing positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Following individual support plans and agreed strategies.
- Working closely with colleagues to provide consistent care and education.
The Experience We’re Looking For
This position would be well suited to an established SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or education professional with transferable specialist experience.
You will need to be confident, compassionate and resilient, with a good understanding of how additional needs can affect learning, communication and behaviour.
Most importantly, we need someone dependable who is genuinely committed to specialist education. Previous experience is essential, as you must be comfortable working from the outset and hitting the ground running.
